The building with the winged wheel was The Fruit & Flower Basket and is currently being renovated and converted into flats. I have enquired about the future of the sign and I am assured that it will stay. I have an indirect link to the Heritage Group who have given me the above info and maybe influence the ‘care’ of the sign.

The other reference to a nearby Repairers Cast Wheel by Karl Briggs is possibly the same building as the ‘locals’ don’t know of another and the grid references are close.
