Town Wall, Berwick on Tweed
Plain Cast Wheel
I was in Berwick on Tweed last weekend and saw a CTC plaque on the wall of a building. Apparently the building was originally built as a cyclists' hotel, but, as you can see from the attached photos, the ground floor has now been converted to shops and offices. The building is situated at the west end of the main street, hard by the town wall. The general location picture was taken from the wall, looking down towards the Town Hall, with the plaque building just out of shot on the left side. The Town Hall is interesting in itself. There is a butter market to the rear, under the main building, the second floor was originally used as the town jail, whilst the steeple was used as a lighthouse!
