Now, here's a turn up! I am the compiler of this website and this sighting was totally unlisted in any of the source data that was submitted to me. However, my grandfather had the bike shop at the far end of the square and I have visited the village regularly over the years without once noticing the sign on the Bugle! It was only drawn to my attention in 2004.
My father proposed marriage to my mother in the square outside the pub, which led to me I suppose. Is this the influence of the CTC on my life? Spooky.
A.J.Hales Cycles & Radio Shop (My Grandfather's shop), now Betton's Carpets, is at the far end of the Square.
Went down to Hampshire for the weekend and had checked your site for any signs to look out for. Was looking for some other items in Wickham and mistakenly thought the Bugle (Titchfield) was in Wickham. My husband, Brian, actually spotted the sign which is high up on the King's Head. It has Quarters above the usual circular plaque. It has been somewhat crudely painted but it is at least still there.
