A few years a go an archeologist friend of mine was asked to visit a site in Powys which was about to be developed. The developer showed him a large round piece of metal which had come to site in a lorry full of salvage brick, formerly the Cambrian Arms in Crickhowell. The developer offered to my friend to find a good home so long as he had a picture of the restored product in its new home. It was a joy to restore and almost a shame to paint the beautiful lustrous metal, but paint it I did, black background, white rim, spokes, wings, and lettering. It is now mounted on the front of my house in Penisarwaen near Llanberis adjacent to my rescued YHA sign.
